Medical Information

Absence

Please contact the school as soon as possible to advise if your child is going to be absent from school due to sickness.

Sickness Guidelines for Exclusion from School

Please see below for the Health Protection Exclusions Table, explains exclusion periods for various illnesses and ailments. If your child has sickness and diarrhoea, we would not expect them to return to school for at least 48 hours after their last episode.

Management of Headlice

Headlice are extremely common in close-knit environments such as schools. We follow guidance from the 'Once a Week Take a Peak' campaign, for which you can find out more information HERE. Please note, your child can come to school after their hair has been treated. Absence will not be authorised for time taken off school due to headlice.

Medicines in School

From time to time your child may be well enough to attend school but requires medicine throughout the day. When this happens, please bring the named box/bottle into to the office and complete the required medical form. We cannot administer medicine without the completion of this form.

First Aid in School

If your child has an accident in school, it is recorded on an accident form. If your child has bumped their head a note is sent home, and we will try to contact a parent/carer.
