Term 1 - Our Changing World

This term, our topic is Our Changing World. We will discover some of the many ways in which the world around us is changing. From coastal erosion to political changes, there are many factors at work. We will also learn about the structure of the United Kingdom and how its shape and geography have changed over thousands of years.

Our PE will be Swimming every Monday. Please ensure your child brings in their swimming costume/trunks, a towel and a waterproof bag. Swimming hats and goggles are optional. Please also remember long hair must be tied back and jewellery cannot be worn during these sessions.

More information about Term 1 and 2 will be sent home in the class newsletter and then uploaded onto the class page.

Homework will be set online on SPAG.com and IXL.com on Fridays and be due in the following Wednesday. Your child will receive another copy of their login and password at the beginning of the year. We will be running a  lunchtime homework club on Tuesdays if your child is unable to access the internet at home.

Children should be reading daily at home. Please remember to sign your child's diary.

Spellings are taught daily through a range of activities. A term's spelling list will be sent home at the beginning of each term. Every Monday, your child will have a list of 10 spellings to learn ready for a spelling test on Friday. Practise at home will greatly enhance your child's understanding of the spelling patterns being taught.
